Youth Environmental Ambassadors Program  2018

The July 2018  Youth Environmental Ambassadors Program will be happening near Kingston, in eastern Ontario, Canada. We'll be taking youth (age 14-20) on an incredible environmental learning experience, exploring the beautiful forest and lakes of the a biodiversity hotspot called the  Frontenac Arch. This is a unique and very special place, where five different forest types converge, making it one of the most spectacular and biologically diverse places in Ontario. The Frontenac Arch Biosphere Reserve is also part of a UNESCO World Heritage site. We'll be exploring the biodiversity of the area, learning about what makes this place so special, learning about the rare and endangered species in the area, and  documenting the beauty and value of this area to share with others through our student's photographs and mini documentaries. We'll visit local provincial parks, learn about local Indigenous culture and history, and enjoy outdoor activities such as canoeing and kayaking, swimming, and hiking in our beautiful surroundings.
